It’s finally time to say goodbye to sweater weather and move forward to the time of year when we can wear lighter clothes!
As you prepare to store your sweaters for the summer, keep in mind that in order to reduce the likelihood of moth damage: wools, cashmeres, silks, furs, leathers, and suedes should be dry cleaned before storage. This is because moths are attracted to the smell of food and perspiration that may remain on garments that are made of protein fibers. Additionally, after cleaning, the best way to store these garments is in a sealed plastic container. If stored this way, moth balls and cedar chips are not necessary.
Also, did you know that we offer a Seasonal Storage Service? If you choose to use this service, we store your garments for the summer in our climate controlled storage room after cleaning them. When the weather starts cooling off again, we will press them and return them back to you. Imagine having all that extra closet space! Let us know if you would like to take advantage of this convenient, space-saving Seasonal Storage Service!
